Farming Futures Schools Program

The Farming Futures Schools Program provides students with the opportunity to explore the diverse and exciting pathways available within Australian agriculture.
Open to students in Year 10 and above, the program introduces participants to UNE’s agricultural study options while showcasing the wide range of careers available across the industry, from ag-tech, agribusiness and sustainability to practical, on-farm roles.
Through engaging presentations, interactive activities and insights from industry professionals, students can discover where a future in agriculture could take them. The program aims to broaden students’ understanding of the industry and provide greater awareness of the pathways available after school, whether through university, a gap year or direct entry into the workforce.

Farming Futures Careers Fair

The Farming Futures Careers Fair is Australia’s largest university-run agricultural careers fair, bringing together students, graduates and industry professionals from across the agricultural sector.
The event creates an environment for meaningful conversations, professional networking and connections that can lead to valuable career opportunities.
Each year, the Careers Fair welcomes a diverse range of employers and organisations, from established
agribusinesses to innovative and emerging industry leaders. Students have the opportunity to explore the breadth of careers available across agriculture, gain insight into potential graduate and employment pathways, and build professional relationships that extend beyond university.
For industry, the Careers Fair provides a valuable opportunity to engage directly with motivated students and graduates, showcase
career pathways and identify the emerging talent that will contribute to the future of the sector.
By connecting the next generation with industry, the Farming Futures Careers Fair helps students take their first steps into rewarding careers while strengthening the future workforce of Australian agriculture.
The event is free for UNE students, secondary students and teachers, TAFE students, and the public, making it a high impact showcase for both industry and future professionals.

Farming Futures Industry Dinner

The Farming Futures Industry Dinner is a highlight of the annual Farming Futures calendar, bringing together students, graduates and industry professionals for an evening of connection, conversation and collaboration.
Open to students in Year 10 and above, the program held following the Careers Fair, the dinner provides an opportunity to strengthen connections established throughout the day in a relaxed and professional environment.
The evening brings together perspectives from across the agricultural sector, providing opportunities to discuss emerging challenges, innovations and the future direction of the industry. Guests can hear from industry leaders, exchange ideas and develop valuable professional relationships with others who share a passion for Australian agriculture.
More than a networking event, the Industry Dinner celebrates the people and organisations contributing to the future of the sector. It provides a platform for meaningful connections that can lead to future career opportunities, partnerships and collaborations, while strengthening relationships between students and industry.

The Farming Futures Careers Fair is Australia’s largest university-run agricultural careers fair for students and graduates. It provides a platform for meaningful conversations between students and industry professionals, helping to spark connections that lead to real career opportunities. By fostering these networks, Farming Futures supports students in launching careers across agribusiness, ag-tech, and agricultural industries dedicated to advancing the sector.
Each year, the Careers Fair showcases a diverse range of employers, from leading agribusiness corporations to innovative organisations. For students, it’s a chance to explore future pathways, build professional networks, and develop skills for life beyond university. For industry, it’s an opportunity to connect directly with motivated graduates and future leaders of Australian agriculture.
To secure a booth at the 2026 Careers Fair, companies are asked to pay a nominal fee of $550 to cover setup costs (sponsorship packages excluded). This includes a corporate display booth (2m x 1m), trestle table with cloth and chairs, company signage, and the option to be featured in the official Careers Fair guide. Power is available on request.

Open to students in Year 10 and above, the program showcases UNE’s agricultural degrees and shines a spotlight on the many career opportunities across the sector, from ag-tech and business to sustainability and on-farm pathways.
Through interactive presentations and real industry insights, students gain a clear picture of the opportunities available after school, whether through further study, a gap year, or direct career entry.
Join us in 2026 to explore new possibilities, meet inspiring role models, and take the first step toward a vibrant career in agriculture.
There is no fee for student involvement in the Schools Program.
